What It Actually Looks Like to Work Through This
It's completely natural to wonder what it looks like to work through your clutter with a nearly complete stranger, virtually. It's also natural to wonder what a decluttering coach actually does.
Your instincts are there to keep you safe.
That's why we take our time getting to know each other.
Think of our first conversation as two people meeting because we care about the same thing.
Home.
You want to find peace there.
I believe that, with compassionate decluttering and coaching, you can find peace.
I'll probably ask something like, "What made today the day you reached out?"
Then I'll listen.
I'll ask what feels heavy right now. What has been frustrating you? What do you hope your home—and your life—could feel like?
Often, women in midlife tell me they used to feel organized. They knew where everything belonged. Somewhere along the way, life changed. A divorce. An empty nest. Caring for aging parents. A loss. A career change. Or maybe years of putting everyone else first.
Many tell me they aren't even sure why they scheduled the call. They simply know something isn't working anymore, and something inside them whispers that it was time.
The only thing I ask is that we bring our collective honesty.
From there, we simply get curious together.
Over time, our conversations begin looking beyond the stuff. We gently explore what your clutter has been carrying for you and what you want your home to hold instead.
That's where the ALIGN Method begins—not with organizing, but with clarity.
We notice patterns.
We explore old beliefs.
We make room for compassion instead of criticism.
Without judgment, you're free to look at your life, your habits, and your clutter as an observer instead of a critic.
The first thing that shifts isn't your home.
It's how you see yourself in your home.
The clutter slowly stops looking like failing.
Instead, it begins to look like something that once protected you, helped you through a difficult season, or both. You can honor what it has meant without allowing it to define what comes next.
That is where letting go begins.
Not because someone told you to get rid of it.
Because you are becoming and are ready.
Little by little, emotional clutter gives way to clarity.
Decisions become easier because they come from self-trust instead of guilt or fear.
As your relationship with your clutter changes, so does your relationship with yourself.
Your home begins reflecting the woman you are becoming instead of the version of yourself you've been carrying for everyone else.
If you're curious about whether this kind of work feels right for you, I invite you to read the first two free chapters of my book, Compassionate Decluttering, below. They are the best way to experience this work and the ALIGN Method before you do anything else.
